[ hopefully the warmth they share will continue to melt that angst. nico wants loki to be happy, after all, and he doubts he can be the one to give that peace to the godling. really, the setting is perfect. all he could possibly want is a burger and fries. ]
That's cool. I wish more people would right the wrongs of the past like that. You probably put her soul to rest.
[ and for a little bit of his own bragging. ] Did you know I once put Daedalus to rest?
It was during the second Titan war, when Kronos was trying to take down the Olympians. Daedalus was still alive, having used automatons to extend his life. As a result, his labyrinth was still alive too, which Kronos' army tried to use to invade Camp Half-blood. At first, Daedalus sided with Kronos, but then rejoined us demigods to fight. After the battle, he realized that by continuing to live, his labyrinth continued to exist as well, as its own living entity. Plus, he knew his time was past and it was the moment to move on. So I put him to rest and the labyrinth collapsed.
[ a pause as he takes a breath. while explaining all this, his hands have begun to move in their characteristic gesturing. ]
Of course, much later, Pasiphaë resurrected the labyrinth and it's back, more deadly than ever, but... [ a shrug. that's where he'd been with will before coming to eudio. ]

[ No answer comes from Loki immediately, napping where his head hangs over Nico's shoulder. A wheezy noise agrees with a murmur, mmm, bad, but his greatest movement is to nuzzle his new cosy home again as his breathing evens out, his arms an immovable band around Nico's waist.
[ since his audience seems to have fallen asleep, nico figures it would be best to find him a more comfortable location. not wanting to rouse the godling, he silently pulls the night's shadows around them until they're dropping (gently) into nico's bed. there, he kicks off his shoes and carefully tugs off loki's before drawing the blankets around them both. if loki wakes some time during all this, nico takes care to brush dark hair from tired, green eyes and press a kiss to the godling's mouth. ]
[ Shadow-travelling is so cool that he's sorry he misses it, snoozing on his back until soft lips muss at his mouth, stealing a kiss. He tugs on Nico's sweater, wanting him for a blanket before anything else. ]
[ At some point during REM-sleep in the night, his unconscious unravels more than usual and all 525 lbs of godling makes the bed squeak and groan, shattering two of the legs.
[ the motion prompts a shout from nico as the bed tilts beneath them. scrambling up, he gets off loki to assess the damage and hopes dearly that the noise hasn't woken his roommates. good gods when loki had said he could squish nico, he wasn't joking... ]
[ face meet palm. loki must be reaaaaally tired to sleep through all this and not having the heart to wake him, nico figures he'll have to drag the fatty someplace where he won't break furniture. heaving a sigh, he grabs loki's hand and then shadows them both to loki's secret apartment where he repeats the process of tucking loki in. he'll have to retrieve their shoes later because hefting a heavy god through the shadows is no easy task. he slumps atop loki and buries his face into the crook of loki's neck and shoulder. ugh. ]
[ What a good demigod! The apartment reacts to Nico's arrival with a few dim lights raising in the hallway, the heating turning up on the thermostat. Loki's bed is a mess of duvets, furs, and pillows, and he rolls onto his side in this pit of comfort to sling an arm around Nico's waist, nuzzling his hair.
Hopefully Nico has nowhere to be until Loki wakes up to break his hold. ]
[ sighing in mild exasperation, he relaxes into the hold. apparently he'll be spending the night, but that's not such a bad thing. in fact, he figures he'll actually sleep better tonight than he does when he sleeps alone, thus feeling comfortable enough to let sleep take him. whenever loki wakes up, he'll have a bitty demigod curled into his embrace. still wearing the sweater and jeans he'd been wearing the previous night. ]
[ City noises. Cars, pedestrians, music. They all filter up from the streets below, waking Loki from the most restful sleep he's had in weeks to find Nico bundled up in his embrace, out for the count. As the previous night's events come back to him (fighting with Dick, absconding to a remote beach with Nico) it becomes apparent the demigod has taken care of their shelter for the evening, inventive in solutions as Nico is.
It must be nine or ten, no later, with rush-hour traffic a constant stream of background buzzing as Loki brushes stray curls out of Nico's eyes and regards him over the pillow in the clear light of day; cheeks rosy with the heat of repose, closed eyelashes like long splashes of ink, hair fluffier than usual (a little static from the furs). Gently, he rolls Nico onto his back and prowls over him on elbows and knees, kissing his way from a pink ear down the relaxed slope of a pale neck, fingertips brushing underneath an ugly sweater to sweep across a flat belly. ]
[ waking is a slow process encouraged by exploring fingers. sleep has always had a restorative affect for nico and as long lashes flutter gradually open, he stretches with thin limbs askew, a hum on his lips that means the fatigue from hefting a weighty god through the shadows has already gone. his mood is infinitely better too, as if the solstice has spawned new hope in him. he gazes down at the owner of those sweeping fingers and actually manages a smile. one hand reaches out to toy with loki's hair and he watches through dark lashes. ]
Good morning. You broke my bed last night.
[ and that smile turns into a bit of a cheeky grin. last night's events haven't been forgotten, but he'll hold off reminding loki of anything until later. ]
[ In a much better mood than last night, he sticks out his tongue and climbs off the deep bed to wander into the apartment, taking all his suggestiveness with him in a sashay of hips. ]
[ well that's just rude. nico will have to find some other way to deal with morning wood if they're going to go out. scrambling out of the bed to follow loki, he tries not to pout as he watches the movement of loki's hips. ]
Well, since I'd originally taken us to my place, I'd taken them off there. If you want to pop over, I can get a change of clothes and my toothbrush too.
[ forget walk of shame, not that anything shame-worthy happened. ]
[ Now knowing where all those things are, they pop! out of thin air one after the other, like the megaphone he once summoned for Squirrel Girl; the Seven-League boots and Nico's shoes, toothbrush, a fresh set of jeans with whichever t-shirt felt like coming along for the ride, and a black leather bomber jacket. And rainbow socks.
Loki may have stolen the latter from a department store where he saw them the other day, but anyway. He claps his hands. ]
[ welp, that works too. nico can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed by the sudden show of magic, but hey. loki's got everything he needs right there. the display is appreciated as well. so while loki gets to making coffee, nico dresses in the provided clothing, even putting on the rainbow socks to humor the godling. once finished (and finished arranging himself in his pants), he pads out to where loki is, by now familiar with the apartment's layout. ]

Morning. Er, I did?
no subject
Oh, mm... I brought us to my place first. You were so deeply asleep that you must've lost your control on your weight.
no subject
[ Frankly astonished that he passed out to such a degree, he levies off Nico to peer down his body just to double-check. How embarrassing. ]
no subject
No, no. You were using me as a blanket at the time. Besides, even if you had hurt me, I would've healed while I slept. But you do owe me a new bed.

[ The nearest pillow is mashed on that smug face as Loki snorts, cheered by the rare sound of Nico's laughter ringing out in his apartment. ]
Fine, that's fair. When you're done mocking me, let's go get breakfast.

The way you woke me up suggested you were interested with breakfast in bed...
