they are two aspects of the same god, yes Pluto is my father's Roman incarnation. i act as his ambassador to living Roman demigods. and i'm not actually a ghost. i just control them.
and so you are the son of the greek version, only? curious you are saying that he is a true god, then? and not a faerie pretending to be one they have a tendency to call themselves after greek and roman gods in my world, you see
and of course controlling ghosts would not be out of the question for some of the more powerful halflings you see my dilemma
yes, i see it. however the greek gods of my world are not related to nature spirits, or as you call them "fae" i'm considered the son of the greek version. i have a half-sister who is the daughter of the roman version. we're both demigods, halfbloods. not halflings. and controlling ghosts is not my only power.
i don't mind. it seems like that's all i've been doing lately but can we switch to video or something all this text makes my head swim i'm dyslexic.
and yes, it means something to me modern vampires are said to be descended from Hecate's empousa. as long as you have no intention of eating me or someone i don't have a problem with it.
[ And he does switch, from here on out. Rafa's face appears, looking friendly and a little curious. He's smiling, and there's no evidence of fangs. His skin is olive-toned, though it still manages to be pale. ]
Have no fear, I only drink from people here when I have heir consent. If you are truly a demigod, I doubt I could drink from you, anyway. Sacred things are not good for my kind.
I was going to ask about your other powers, but now you have made me curious. Dyslexic? I have never heard of that, I'm afraid.
Dyslexia is the reading disability where letters are switched in words, making it hard to read. All demigods are dyslexic because our brains are hardwired to read Ancient Greek.
Then I might have some minor control over them. I don't generally use that power unless I have to fight, but... yeah.
[ a shrug. ]
I don't have that kind of power. I have encountered vampires, empousa before, but they're considered monsters in my world. I can only fight them, not control them. I suspect the same would be true for you.
[ nico quickly shakes his head. he remembers bob the titan who might be considered a monster but never was. he thinks of mrs. o'leary, the hellhound, and the way she would roll onto her back for tummy rubs. and he remembers byrce lawrence, the demigod who was more of a monster than any nico had ever met... ]
As long as you don't intentionally harm others, you're no monster. I've seen monsters. Empousa are monsters because they don't care who or what they devour. I've met some. You... don't seem that way.
Oh, I don't think that. [ his lips curl, the shadow of a wry smirk. ] I'm just telling you that you don't seem like a monster. You're just... you. The fact you use control speaks a lot.
It can be, depending on the demigods. Some aren't as capable fighters as others. Some are more suited to other things. For example, my boyfriend is a son of Apollo. He's a very skilled healer.

[ In a tone that says, that's really weird. He accepts it, though. ]
Can the device not help you? Perhaps it could translate to Ancient Greek. They are always keen to help us in those ways.
What else does it mean to be a demigod? A halfblood. Are you immortal?
no subject
[ scratches the back of his neck. ]
We're not immortal, but we heal faster than mortals. We also have some of the power our parents have.

[ A pause. ]
King of Ghosts, indeed. Can you raise the dead, as well?

But what of vampires? Some consider us to be dead things, though I do not hold to that. Have you encountered one of us before?

Empousa, that is...Greek, yes? Perhaps an older name for my kind. You have met vampires who use it still?

As long as you don't intentionally harm others, you're no monster. I've seen monsters. Empousa are monsters because they don't care who or what they devour. I've met some. You... don't seem that way.

Do not think me any kind of saint. I would not pretend to be.
We are not mindless creatures, though, and I do not harm anyone here. Control is important in a place like this.

I'd hope not. And sometimes I have.

I would like to see that. I have never seen a demigod fight.
I imagine it would be impressive.

When surrounded by fighters, I imagine that comes in handy. Is your boyfriend here with you?
