[It takes Lucy a moment to open the door. She had to send out a text to Victor to let him know she was heading out with Nico and would be back within the hour.
After that, she opens the door and gives a weak smile at Nico.]
[Lucy doesn't hesitate, she closes the door behind her and goes to Nico, hugging him tightly.]
...I don't know. [Really, she doesn't. She's trying to get a handle on things, trying to be brave, trying to be strong. Emma wouldn't be upset for long..Emma, her Dad....Regina, they would all move on, wouldn't they?
[ rubbing her head gently, he gives her a squeeze before pulling away and kneeling down so he can be at eye-level with her. ]
I know. I've been in the same position you are now and it's never easy. Not at first. But it will get easier with time. And remember, she's not gone forever.
I know..I know. But...it's different. I didn't get to meet her until now. My Dad talked about her a lot.

He's Victor's friend, but I didn't know Victor had a friend named Jim. He showed up at the door and said he was a friend and I didn't believe him. He asked me who I was and I said I was Victor's kid, because, he's my caretaker and acting as a parent so...it made sense to say that I'm his kid.
[Lucy starts to go over what happened: how Jim was confused, how she was confused and then screamed because she thought he was lying and trying to take her to a group home.]
We've...kind of gotten past that, but...Victor really likes him..and I want him to be happy, but...I don't want him getting hurt.
[ his brows raise a little as he smirks. so victor might have a potential beau. no wonder lucy's a little confused. but he doesn't blame her. perhaps he should have a sit down with victor and explain a few things about kids and relating to adult relationships. ]
If that's the case, it might just take some getting used to him, getting to know him. If he's important to Victor, maybe he'll become important to you too.
[It's not so much she's confused, but rather...protective of Victor, and maybe a bit jealous? She doesn't want her not!dad to be taken away by anyone else! Jim could turn evil if he's a not!step-parent!
...but Regina was a step-parent, and went from bad to good. So...maybe there's hope for Jim.]
But he could hurt Victor, and he deserves someone great! I mean, I don't know what Victor's told him about his world or anything, but to someone else it could sound crazy--and I don't want that for him.
[ that's cute, in a way. he gets the protectiveness and even nods in understanding. ]
Well, Victor is a grown up and can make his own decisions. I'm sure it'll be fine, though. You've got enough to worry about without worrying about the lovelives of adults.
[Hey, she would be doing the same to you, Nico. If Nico fancied someone, she would get protective, because as Nico said--falling in love hurts. Or...did he warn her to not fall in love? Something along those lines.]
But he's my adult. He's the one taking care of me, and I love him a lot. I don't want something to happen to him.
[She looks at Nico with something close to a pleading look in her eyes.]
How can I find out if he's good enough for Victor and won't hurt him?
[ since meeting tj, he's begun to change his mind on love. he still feels like it sucks on most days, but when he's around tj, it's definitely not so bad. ]
I believe you. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him either.
[ a sigh, because this really isn't his area of expertise. he's been burnt by love too many times to give good advice, so he shakes his head. ]
I'm not sure. If he isn't, just be there for Victor if he gets hurt. That's all you can really do.
